**ELECTION NEWS**This years' election season has now started. The Board of Directors has four seats opening up for the upcoming term.
The following dates for the key election activities were approved by the Board of Directors during the June meeting:
June 29 - Applications forms are available.
July 31 - Deadline for applications to be returned.
August 9 - Meet the Candidates forum (6:00 - 8:00 PM).
August 22 - Volunteers stuff and mail envelopes.
September 29 - Deadline for receipt of returned ballots.
October 1 - Volunteers collect and count ballots. Election results are certified. Candidates and BOD are notified.
October 9 - Newly elected Board members installed.

Election Committee Update 07/11/2018
If your address for the ballot envelope is different than the one current ly on file for the Assessment mail out you must notify the front office at the Welcome Center before the ballots are mailed on 22 August. A volunteer sign up sheet for the Ballot Mail Out event, starting at 9 AM on 22 August, has been placed at the Welcome Center front desk. We can use as much help as the community can provide. Don't be shy!

**REMEMBER** BURN PERMITS: Between October 15th and May 15th both Cumberland County and Putnum County require burn permits. To receive a permit, go to www.burnsafetn.org or call 931-484-4548(Cumberland Co.) or 931-839-2328(Putnum Co.) We encourage anyone that is going to burn outdoors to borrow one of our Cove water backpack extinguishers. Click here for more information.
**FIREWISE REMINDER** As you clean up around your property and driveway, removing brush or trees, trimming or changing landscape, etc..., please fill out a "Cumberland Cove Volunteer Time Sheet" and turn it into the Welcome Center front office. These time sheets help the Cove maintain its Firewise certification and help us qualify for grants for firewise equipment and improvements in an effort to improve the wildfire safety of the Cove.
